Alcohol deaths: 1 in 19 worldwide. 1 in 7 in the age bracket 20 to 39
JURAVIN RESEARCH reveals scary statistics of alcohol abuse to a degree of “spiritual suicide”. While social drinking may have its advantages, it seems like alcohol may be used subconsciously as a suicidal form to forget real-life problems, feel artificially happy and die. “Spirits” get a death toll number of 3 million worldwide.
We found a correlation between alcohol consumption and suicide rate based on World Happiness Report 2017
Alcohol Use Rate Comparison: USA vs Europe vs Israel. Which country has lower alcohol use?
World Lowest (best) Alcohol Use

Important Key Facts
- 3 million deaths worldwide annually resulting from harmful use of alcohol, representing 5.3% (1 in 19) of all deaths.
- 200 related diseases: Alcohol consumption is a causal factor in more than 200 disease and injury conditions. - 1 in 20 dies: Overall 5.1% of the global burden of disease and injury is attributable to alcohol, as measured in disability-adjusted life years (DALYs).
- Alcohol consumption causes death and disability relatively early in life. In the age group, 20 to 39 years approximately 13.5% (1 in 7) of the total deaths are alcohol-attributable.
- The suicide factor: there is a causal relationship between the harmful use of alcohol and a range of mental and behavioral disorders, other noncommunicable conditions as well as injuries.
- The latest causal relationships have been established between harmful drinking and incidence of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis as well as the course of HIV/AIDS.
- Social and economic losses: Beyond health consequences, the harmful use of alcohol brings significant social and economic losses to individuals and society at large.
- There are gender differences in alcohol-related mortality and morbidity, as well as levels and patterns of alcohol consumption.
- Men Vs. Women: The percentage of alcohol-attributable deaths among men amount to 7.7% of all global deaths compared to 2.6% of all deaths among women. Total alcohol per capita consumption in 2010 among male and female drinkers worldwide was on average 19.4 liters for males and 7.0 liters of pure alcohol for females.

These are really amazing statistics. According to stats American are at top, France, Germany and Italy are 11.17 accumulative that are 4.0 roughly for each country. I think 3.80 are also injurious for health, what do you think about my point of view?
Please detail your response further
Alcohol poisoning? Check. Marjuana poisoning? Nope.
Kidney damage from excessive drinking? Check. Marjuana damaging kidneys? Nope.
Vomiting from excessive drinking and hangovers? Check. Same symptoms from marjuana? Nope, unless you pull a really bad whitey (which is usually a result of combining marjuana and alcohol anyway.)
Becoming aggressive and getting in fights when drunk? Check. Meanwhile marjuana actually makes most people relaxed, calmer and potentially sleepy (not violent.)
Marjuana has never killed anyone. The same can’t be said for alcohol.
Plus marjuana can be used to treat many medical conditions, whilst alcohol can’t.
I was the girlfriend of an alcoholic man. I’m 26 and he’s 33. We met a year ago. I had never had any prior experience with active alcoholism within a relationship. Not up close, prolonged experience. I met him on an online dating site. He asked me on the second day if I’d like to meet. I’ll be completely honest here and admit that I did something you should never do…. I was lonely and feeling spontaneous. It’s important that I tell you the whole truth.
I invited him over to my house that evening. Asked him to bring a few beers if he felt like it. I was at the height of my own depression and the loneliness was crippling.
My job offers very little interaction and my life was isolated at that point. I needed a friend and probably more than that. We talked within messenger and on the phone. He seemed very mellow and sweet. He came over and sat at my kitchen table. And we had a few beers, talked and enjoyed each other. He told me he was recently separated from his wife, that she had cheated. I listened to him tell me that he had recently spent a year in the hospital ( he didn’t specify what landed him there.) and that he had gotten “sick” and had to be intubated. He had a bright red scar on his throat.
I was going to learn about that later…
I was four beers in and feeling a little more than buzzed. I rarely stopped to have a beer on my own time so it was nice. I got drunk with an alcoholic and I had no idea. He invited me over to his house when he realized I was feeling relaxed and buzzed, and you might say he took advantage, but I know soberly I wanted to go. I don’t debate that even now. I felt just as desperate as he did.
He was handsome, with blue eyes and tattoos. He was boyishly sweet and hearing his laugh was comforting and sexy. I got in his truck and he drove me to his house. We watched movies and made out. We laughed and I met his dog. His house was empty from the separation and it was clear that he had been alone for some time. We slept together that night. Out of loneliness and so many other things. We had a connection, but one in a bad place. I had the summer off and he was recently unemployed. He was in construction and at the time said he was between jobs
He never did find another job. We shacked up for the next few weeks and I barely went home. I loved his kisses and his company and at home, there was nothing. His drinking slowly became more obvious to me. He kept a glass of vodka by the TV always. No ice… just warm vodka. He’d drink it like water, and for a while I thought it was. But his kisses tasted like alcohol and he offered me beer every night. It felt like an endless party and in my college years it wasn’t uncommon to drink when we had the chance…
I still didn’t know that his recent stint in the hospital was alcohol-related or that his marriage may very well have failed due to this. I had no experience… I just had me and my instincts to piece it together. He loved sleeping next to me… made me breakfast. I was lost in it. He was an amazing cook and a sweetheart. He had me hooked. Slowly, I realized he had a problem. I met his father and learned more. The father was a worse drunk than his son!
But his father was a functioning alcoholic. He held a job and judged his son for not being able to hold down the liquor like he does. His father urged him to find work and commented on the appearance of his son. He was thin and I found out later that his weight was significantly lower than it had been when he was healthy. Things were coming together. He had a very real problem.
Nobody is certain what causes liquor abuse however hereditary qualities can assume a job, just as ecological issues, adapting aptitudes – and so forth. High-stress occupations can assume a job too. There are numerous different hypotheses I am just posting a couple.
There are no herbs or different plants that have demonstrated powerful by therapeutic research in effectively treating liquor abuse.
Liquor dependence has turned into a noteworthy worry in our general public. More families and connections have been annihilated.
Alcohol abuse is more socially acceptable than it should be. Alcohol breaks relationships and wrecks homes. It can have severely negative impact on kids as well. I wish the world were to pay more attention to this issue. Thank you for bringing this to light, Don.
I know lots of people dealing with alcohol when they are problematic. And I know lots of people are with it at a very young age. This is not a solution to every problem. I think society should deal with this issue. Drink moderately!
These are great research of estimated percentage of some of the countries that take up alcoholic beverages. You know taking up more alcohol in our body can result in different sickness. It is not healthy to drink more than the body can handle. I know this because I too was a drinker but when age hits me I decided to stop drinking because of pains that I feel due to excessive drinking when I was young. Too much of anything is not good.
Excessive drinking can cause different diseases to the body. You have to drink moderately. I know some of my friends that died at a young age because of sickness that excessive drinking brings. This research is helpful so people from those countries with high percentage can lessen their drinking habits. Thanks for sharing this don.!
If you’re consuming too much alcohol in your body, a medicine may be ineffective or dangerous or make you sick. It will run through generation if we don’t stop this now.
The government must give an eye to this. Alcoholic drinks are not good for our health. It’s not just adults who drink this but also teenagers. This is a serious topic that we might encounter every day.
Drinking the most popular way to numb yourself. It might be a much-required release at times but too much of anything is obviously not good and the same is sadly true for alcohol. Alcohol can be very destructive not just for you but also for people close to you so addicted to it needs to be avoided. Thank you so much Don Juravin for sharing your research with us and giving us this information.
There are many dangerous things we can do, especially if we are reckless. Drinking alcohol is one of those things. But it’s a no brainer how to avoid danger – simply don’t drink. Or if you are willing to take a bit of risk, drink moderately. There is no situation where you will be forced to drink against your will, except maybe at a party. But that is also a part of your risk calculation. You don’t have to go to that party.
Who is more likely to drink:
The middle-aged church deacon with a concealed carry permit, or
The urban metro sexual convinced that gun control is a reasonable idea?
You don’t hear about it because an alcohol prohibition affects their life. The modern neoliberal is the undisputed world champion when it comes to telling other people what they need to do, and how they should live, while completely overlooking their own flaws that tend to be exponentially greater.
According to the NIH, there are approximately 88,000 related alcohol deaths in the US each year, with approximately 10,000 of those related to DUI accidents. Shouldn’t we tackle this instead of attacking the 2nd amendment?

We stopped going after drunk drivers when people realized no one was giving up alcohol.
We tried the alcohol ban. That didn’t work out so well.
Imagine if we said we needed to ban private ownership of cars. Or demanded no car go over 55mph. People would lose their minds.
But since more people own cars than firearms. Non firearm owners don’t feel like their rights are being abused.
“I don’t own any, so no skin off my nose.”
